Treasuer Elections: The Pauline Elizabeth Hopkins Society will hold an election to formally fill the office of Treasurer at the May 25, 2012 business meeting in San Francisco.

If anyone is interested in running for this position, please email Alisha Knight directly at aknight2@washcoll.edu by Friday, April 20.

The Treasurer maintains full and accurate financial accounts for the Society, oversees and manages funds and pays all bills properly incurred by the Society. She/he shall present annual financial reports to the Executive Committee and at the annual meeting of the Society. She/he shall preform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Committee.

In order to run for office, candidates must be members in good standing (current in their membership dues). Officers will be elected by majority vote of all members present and voting; however, candidates do not have to be present to be elected to office.

 

The 2011-2012 Pauline Elizabeth Hopkins Society Newsletter is now available and contains 2011 ALA meeting minutes and the 2012 ALA Call for Papers

 

The Call for Papers for the 2012 American Literature Association Conference is now available; submissions are due January 15, 2012.

 

2011-2012 Membership forms are now posted; please submit your renewal or new membership!

The Pauline Hopkins Society sponsored two panels at the 2011 American Literature Association Annual Meeting, May 26-29.
